A co-founder of Knightsbridge, Alan has over 30 years of investment experience. Prior to founding Knightsbridge, he co-founded and served as President and Chief Executive Officer for Canterbury Capital Services, Inc. since its inception in 1988. Prior to that he was Vice President of Kidder, Peabody & Co., Inc. where he worked for seventeen years. He received his BS in operations research and industrial engineering from Cornell University in 1966. Alan is a former President of the Cornell Alumni Association of Southern California and currently serves on the Board of the Philharmonic Society of Orange County.

A co-founder of Knightsbridge, John has over 15 years of investment experience. Prior to co-founding Knightsbridge, John worked at Canterbury Capital Services, Inc. and in the investment department of Santa Barbara Bank and Trust. He has a BA in economics from the University of California, San Diego, an MA in finance and banking from Boston University and he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. John has served as President of the Orange County Society of Investment Managers and on the boards of a local Boys and Girls Club and a foster care agency. He currently serves on the advisory board of the Long Beach State University Student Investment Fund.

Jane joined Knightsbridge in August 2005, following eight years at investment firm L. Roy Papp & Associates, Phoenix, Arizona, where she was a partner with responsibilities in equity research and portfolio management. Jane received her MBA from Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona and her BBA from Pacific Union College, Angwin, California where she graduated magna cum laude. Jane enjoys mountain biking, hiking, tennis and kayaking, and is a CFA charter holder.

Chad is involved in equity and fixed income analysis at Knightsbridge. Chad also participates in Knightsbridge's anomaly research efforts and assists in the portfolio management of Knightsbridge's international strategy. He graduated from Northwestern University in 1998 with a degree in industrial engineering and management sciences. Subsequently he worked at Intel Corporation for six years, most recently in strategic planning group. Chad received his MBA in finance by attending USC's Marshall School of Business and London Business School. Chad is currently a level 3 CFA candidate.

John joined Knightsbridge full time in July 2007 after an internship at the firm in the winter of 2006. John graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 2002 with a BA in mathematics. John received his MA in mathematics from the University of California at Los Angeles in 2004, and received his PhD in mathematics in June 2007, also from UCLA. John was a recipient of the National Science Foundation VIGRE Fellowship while at UCLA, and was a guest lecturer at the joint CalTech-UCLA Logic Seminar in 2006 and 2007.

Dhawal is involved in the firm's research and trading efforts.  Prior to joining Knightsbridge, he was with UBS Investment Bank, Stamford, Connecticut, where he traded equity derivatives (structured and vanilla). He also had exposure to convertible bonds, equity index options, algorithmic, and quantitative trading. Dhawal earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Irvine.  Dhawal earned his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India.  He is the author of  Essays in Environmental Economics and Policy: Climate Change and Fuel Economy Policy, published by VDM Verlag.

Miles joined Knightsbridge in 2010 and is involved in multiple aspects of the firm’s operations and research. Prior to joining Knightsbridge, he worked in Citigroup’s Capital Markets Operations Strategy & Planning division, serving in both the New York and London offices. Miles graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude at Dartmouth College where he earned an AB in Economics, specializing in finance and industrial organization.

Gene became a member of the Pacific Stock Exchange on his twenty-first birthday in 1966 and spent over twenty-five years on the trading floor. For twelve years prior to joining Knightsbridge in 2001, he was a floor member of the Pacific Stock Exchange in charge of trading operations for Seidler Companies. Prior to that he was a floor member and trader for Bateman, Eichler, Hill, Richards; Wedbush, Noble and Cook; and Letterman Transaction Services. He became a Registered Specialist in 1971. Additionally, he has served on the Pacific Stock Exchange Arbitration Panel, the Floor Trading Committee, served as Manager of Equity Surveillance, and Chairman of the Allocation Committee (allocation of new issues to specialists).

Prior to joining Knightsbridge in 2006, Teresa served as a vice president with oversight of fund administration and compliance for Pacific Investment Management Company and PIMCO Advisors. Prior to PIMCO Advisors, she directed advisory administration and subsidiary development for Pacific Financial Asset Management Company, and worked as an analyst for Pacific Life. Teresa graduated magna cum laude with a BA in business administration from University of Phoenix, and has completed level 1 of the CFA exam.

Ray has over thirty years of investment management experience, serving as Managing Director of Palley Needelman Asset Management, Inc., and Senior Vice President of Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO). Ray earned a BA in history from the University of Southern California and a MA in business economics from the Claremont Graduate School. He has lived in the Newport Beach area for over twenty years and is currently a member of the Hoag Hospital Foundation Investment Board and the Harbor Area Youth Foundation Investment Committee.

Prior to joining Knightsbridge in 2003, Lisette served as a Senior Sales Assistant and was a key participant in the opening of a local Morgan Stanley office. Lisette also worked in administration at Solomon Smith Barney and Merrill Lynch over the prior ten years. Prior to working in the area of finance, Lisette oversaw operations of the Scottsdale Foundation for the Handicapped and taught on a volunteer basis in Mexico. Lisette majored in Business at the University of New Mexico.

Michelle joined Knightsbridge as a full time employee in August 2008. She graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a BA in sociology, where she was a member of the Dean's list and graduated with Latin Honors. While at UCI, she was a member of Alpha Phi sorority, Associated Students of UCI, and served as a Greek life intern for the dean of students. Since graduation, Michelle has remained actively involved with Alpha Phi as well as the alumni association of UCI. In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, surfing, and spending time with her dog.

Prior to joining Knightsbridge in September 2006, Michelle worked at Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO) in Newport Beach, California, where she was responsible for various aspects of financial report production and verification, and at State Street Corporation in Irvine, California and Boston Massachusetts, where she worked in various operational capacities. Michelle received her BBA in finance and operations management from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where she was a member of the Dean's List.

Matthew is a portfolio administrator at Knightsbridge. Prior to joining Knightsbridge, he worked overseas as an English teacher in Taiwan. He currently serves on the finance committee at Evangel Bible Church of Orange County, where he also leads the music ministry. In his spare time, he enjoys playing the guitar and reading good books. Matt is presently a level 1 CFA candidate.

Outside Advisor

Gabriel Baracat, CFA, is an advisor to Knightsbridge and a member of Ark Analytics, LLC, a Boston-based provider of research support services to financial institutions. He provides Knightsbridge outside perspective on its 'investment anomaly' research efforts and assists in identifying applicable academic research. Prior to establishing Ark, Gabriel co-managed a value fund for Columbia Management Group. He also served as an analyst at Liberty Mutual Insurance Co for ten years. He received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute, his MS in Mechanical Engineering (full Merit Fellowship) from Stanford University and his MBA from the University of Chicago.

Dimitri N. Balatsos CFA is an advisor to Knightsbridge Asset Management LLC and founder of Tesseract Partners, LLC. His professional career spans over 30 years and includes positions as Chief International Economist with Manufacturers Hanover Trust; Director of Global Investments and Senior Portfolio Manager with Kidder, Peabody & Co. and Director of Business Development and Senior Portfolio Manager with Lombard Odier & Cie, a large Swiss private bank. He is the author of numerous articles on global financial markets and the world economy and has appeared frequently in feature interviews in Barron's magazine. He received his BA in Economics from Knox College in Galesburg, IL and his MA degree in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley, where he also completed advanced work toward a PhD in Economics and served as a Teaching Fellow.

David Hirshleifer, PhD

David Hirshleifer, PhD is an advisor to Knightsbridge and the Merage Chair in Business Growth & Finance at the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine. He previously served as the Kurtz Chair in Finance at Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business, the Waterman Professor of Finance at the University of Michigan Business School and as a tenured faculty member at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. An expert in behavioral finance, and co-authored Price Theory and Applications: Decisions, Markets, and Information, now in its seventh edition. He has published more than 35 papers. Professor Hirshleifer received his PhD and MA in Economics from the University of Chicago and his BA in Mathematics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
